Welcome

   NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Neighborhood Watch is a program, formal or informal, of people watching out for people, or neighbors watching out for neighbors. Your neighbors are your best defense against crime. They know you (or they should), your cars, your habits. If something is amiss at your house, usually neighbors notice.  Get to know your neighbors, if you do not already.

There are some 30 Neighborhood Watch groups in Weslaco, of varying activity levels. A few are quite active; others are next to dormant. But most of these neighborhoods that have had experience with Neighborhood Watch know that when they see suspicious activity, they should call the police department. Often, the activity turns out to be innocent, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Call 968-TIPS(8477) or utilize Web Tips to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.
